I love applying the resources of fiction to content marketing. For Jhana, an online resource for educating managers in the tech industries (acquired a few years ago by StevenCovey) I created a fictional, but reality-based, series of stories called New Manager Diary. It follows the adventures of a young manager learning how to maximize his team’s potential. In this one, he handles a disgruntled employee older and more experienced than he is.

Burnout

In this piece for the magazine of the University of Minnesota’s School of Public Health, I examined the ongoing crisis of demoralization in the medical profession, driven by factors that range from the corporatization of medicine to the effects of the pandemic. This issue of Advances won a Gold Medal as the Best Single Issue in the 2022 Educational Advertising Awards.

Our Lady's Spirit

I won a Minnesota Magazine Award for this story about the building of the beautiful chapel at the University of Saint Catherine in Saint Paul, MN. And, in 2024, the university asked me back to do a follow-up article on the chapel’s history on the occasion of its 100th anniversary.
